A second Cabinet reshuffle in one term

Pretoria – President Jacob Zuma has announced several changes to his Cabinet in a special press briefing at the Union Buildings in Pretoria this afternoon.

Public Works Minister Gwen Mahlangu-Nkabinde and Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Sicelo Shiceka were replaced in the Cabinet reshuffle.

The Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform, Thembelani “Thulas” Nxesi, has been appointed Minister of Public Works.

“The department will no longer have a Deputy Minister,” said Zuma.

Dina Pule, Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Performance Monitoring and Evaluation has been appointed the Minister of Communications.

Obed Bapela, the Deputy Minister for Communications, will now be the Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Performance Monitoring and Evaluation.

Richard Baloyi, the Minister of Public Service and Administration, has been appointed the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.

The Minister of Communications, Roy Padayachie, is to take over the Department of Public Service and Administration portfolio, said Zuma.

“Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu, the Deputy Minister of Public Works, will become the Deputy Minister of Women, Children and People with Disabilities,” he announced.

Lechesa Tsenoli, chairperson of the portfolio committee on cooperative governance and traditional affairs, has been appointed as Deputy Minister for Rural Development and Land Reform.

ANC Member of Parliament, Thembisa Stella Ndabeni, will become the Deputy Minister of Communications.

Zuma wished all the ministers and the deputy ministers well in their new portfolios and thanked the outgoing Cabinet members for their contribution towards building a better life for all. – BuaNews
