Following today’s announcement by Dr. Mamphele Ramphele’s Agang SA that it has recruited more than one hundred members from Julius Malema’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), including members holding leadership positions in Gauteng, the EFF has come out with guns blazing claiming that the defectors were lured with money.

“We are further aware that many of them defected because they were promised payments for the work they will do in AgangSA. This means they were bought by Dr. Mamphele Ramphele with the money she got from the sweat and blood of mineworkers and our mineral resources,” says EFF national spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi in a statement released today.

At a press briefing today, Agang SA presented some of the new members who defected from the EFF, including Pule Matshitshe EFF’s former Gauteng provincial organiser and provincial co-ordination Nozi Poswayo.

While confirming the defection, Ndlozi indicated that the loss the members to Agang SA is insignificant. “It must be noted though that members who have left do not constitute even 1% of the members EFF has in Gauteng”. –seniorjournalism.com
