Popular SABC 2 music show, Jam Sandwich, is set for a 4th season return this Wednesday, 26 June at its usual time slot – 22H00. In its first episode the show will feature a collaboration by Robbie Malinga and Maleh.
The popular show features two artists from two different music genres over a three-day journey including brainstorming, rehearsing and recording a song together. Over the past three seasons, Jam Sandwich has captivated its views and music fans across the country with out-of-this-world collaborations from different artists. The show has won multiple awards including a SAFTA for Best Music Show.
On announcing the return of Jam Sandwich, SABC 2 publicist Lebo Malete promised viewers and music lovers that the show will stay true to its premise of bringing two artist from two different worlds together for a tasteful collaboration. Additionally, viewers can expect to see a new music producer for each collaboration.
“Due to the success of the show and the popularity amongst both musicians and audiences alike, more and more big name artists are requesting to be on the show. This has allowed the producers to create more interesting collaboration without compromising the basic premise of the show – showcasing the similarities and differences in South Africa’s very wide musical range, and this makes Jam Sandwich a must watch music show” says Malete.
In Season 4, viewers can expect to see artists such as Robbie Malinga, Arno Carstens, Maleh, Claire Johnston, Black Motion, Soweto Gospel Choir, L’vovo, Brian Temba, Bongeziwe Mabandla, Mfiliseni Magubane, Die Campbells and many others.
